In a similar move as currently exists for Australia, New Zealand and some other island nations, Chile has introduced stricter quarantine rules. Everyone, and this includes the crew as well as the skipper, must complete a Customs/Quarantine Declaration form. This has to be done at every Chilean port entered, not just on first arrival in the country. There is a stiff fine, currently US$4500, for failure to do so. The declaration must include all food, plant and animal products.
