Subject Jabsco manual toilets. Shaft seal:
Every so often the seal on the pump shaft handle needs replacing. I have just done ours again, so thought I would pass on the non Jabsco part number for the seal. Jabsco only sell the complete unit whether it is twist and lock or a normal pump. I sourced the seals Year’s ago
The code on our seal is TTO A970, that is the manufactures number. the seal size is 7x19x7 mm. I bought about 20 seals for the price of one replacement part from Jabsco
It is fairly easy to do, a bit of brute force can prise the old seal out, clean up the area and coat the new seal in silicon grease and tap into place. Hey presto, sorted.
As we are on board 10 month of the year we tend to have to replace about twice a year, mind you that may increase after reading John Franklin’s tip of doing a minimum of 25 pumps!
Nothing worse when setting off on passage and find the heads pump is starting to leak. hope this helps Jabsco and Par ITT toilet owners
