Hi All,

I'd love to get some feedback on what you think of the new forum platform. I'm hearing various negatives about it and how difficult it is to log in and get around - wondering if that's the majority feeling or if it's a vocal minority...

Do you find it more easy or more difficult to log into the forum than it used to be? What sort of difficulties do you have?
Do you like the new layout? How can it be improved - or should we revert?
Is the order of presentation OK - what would you change?

I didn't get a lot of time to sort the bugs out of the new system before we left cruising this year - so I'd REALLY appreciate any feedback I can garner from you - so that I can make appropriate changes during the coming inactive (sailing-wise) winter months...

Please respond with a reply here or by email to forum@oceancruisingclub.org

Many thanks,

Hi Bill,
I had no problem setting up a new password, and letting my computer remember it makes it vastly easier to login. I'm on Windows 10 using Chrome.

I LOVE the most popular feature. You can see which topics are most frequented and how many visitors. It's interesting that outboards and anchoring are by far the most visited, and clearly not just by members.

It took me a little while to figure out that formatting and functions are in a drop-down menu. But it works well.

The cruising information is not ideal. I find that scrolling down a long way to get to it is not helpful, especially when there are competing themes like cruising lifestyle to get through. I would find an upfront menu of just the main headings useful.

It also took me a while to find how to access unread, popular and recent via the icons on Android, but otherwise, it looks fine.

It all works fine in both platforms, except the Fleet Map which I cannot access on Android at all. That's the most frustrating because when someone pulls into a harbour and I have mobile signal, I want to look them up right away and I can't.

I appreciate the job you are doing managing the Forum and it feels like there's more engagement now.
